My phone, the AMOI WP-S1 / 3 Skypephone is almost dead. Specifically it has cooked my SIM card and is under a suspended death penalty. If 3 can issue me a replacement SIM with the same number, I might let it live, but if they can’t it is getting the chop. A pity really, as I really liked the phone when it worked.

I might try a Skypephone 2, or an INQ1. But I’ll be really pissed off if they develop the same problem.

EDIT: After half a day of arguing with 3 that they CAN issue me with a replacement SIM, they’ve finally agreed to do it. At no charge. Still, I’ll be using it in another phone until they can also fix the Skypephone.

EDIT2: Got the sim card and the phone back. It seems to work now, lets see for how long.

Once again I’ve received a threat letter from the TV Licensing people.

This one includes the phrases: “immediate action”, “intended prosecution”, “enforcement officer”, “criminal offence”, and “legal proceedings”.

They are threatening to visit me with a view to prosecution. Well I hope that they do. Then they would see that my old TV is currently on its side acting as a printer stand, and that I have (and this is going to be in capitals, for emphasis) NO WORKING TELEVISION RECEIVING EQUIPMENT!

Seven ‘phone calls and three letters and they still won’t listen.

So, why do they think I have a telly? Because I bought, from those ####ers at PC World, a Composite Video input USB dongle. And the ####s at PissyWorld count that as a TV recieving device.

Ok, so it really is my own fault for shopping at PissyWorld, but “Demanding Money With Menaces” is still a criminal offense, as is Extortion.

Actually, I can’t wait for these ####s to take me to court.

Ah while ago, a Mr. Andrew Denny of Granny Buttons bemoaned the lack of a UK specific site ranking chart for canal and waterways related blogs.

So, I made one which tracks hits via a little image button thing like this…
… then formats the results into a nice table.

Xtranormal is a website that allows you to make simple little animations quickly.

This is my first play about with it.

Ok, so everyone and their dog is ranting like mad about the casting choice of the new actor to play the character of The Doctor in Doctor Who.

Fine. Matthew Smith. Never heard of him, but I’d never heard of David Tennant either.

But, and this is very important, David Tennant does not look like a total arsecandle.

I know I can’t really say a damn thing about hair (sporting my James May Tribute Haircut), but observe the floppy lop-sided shiteness.  Its only a tiny step away from sending emoarse.com and doctorwhoisshit.com into some kind of cyclic whirlpool of manic recursion, or even recursive occlusion.

Still, we’ll see how it goes. I thought that Sylvester McCoy was going to be awful, but The Curse of Fenric and Battlefield are two of my favourite stories.
